There are many good compilers out there, so you can use anyone you want to compiler your 80x86 code, but I use MASM 6.1 and TASM 4.0. I've also heard of a shareware compiler called A86 which is used to compiler up to 80286 processors (Note: I don't know anything about this compiler, so the little piece of information that I'm giving you might be false) and below.

If you don't have any compiler at hand, you can get a copy of this shareware compiler so called A86 from the link on the next column. This compiler also has it's own debugger called D86, both come in versions 3.1 or so.
