A clean-room Java™ Virtual Machine implementation, designed to be highly portable, optimised for use on small, low-power devices. From version 1.04a onwards, JavaVM is covered by the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL). From version 1.10 onwards both JDK 1.1 and J2SDK 1.4 are supported.

22nd July 2004 - Version 1.10 of the Taurus JavaVM is now available for download. This version includes support for J2SDK 1.4 as well as JDK 1.1. It is also able to load the standard classes from Zip and Jar files, so there is no need to extract them first.
7th May 2003 - Milestone: Test Suite now runs using Java 2 classes.
28th Jan 2003 - Version 1.06a of the Taurus JavaVM for Acorn RISC OS is now available for download.
8th Nov 2002 - Version 1.06a of the Taurus JavaVM is now available for download. Features include improved memory management and the first freely available Win32 binary.
25th Mar 2002 - Milestone: JavaVM ran 'javac' for the first time.
12th Mar 2002 - Milestone: JavaVM goes GPL.
