UNIX is a cool operating system made by Bell Labs in the end of the 70's decade. UNIX is widely used by big corporations such as hospitals, 3-D Animation and publishing companies, and Web servers. Linux is a proof that UNIX shouldn't be only for big machines.
Linux can be installed on 32-bit x86 based systems, such as 386, 486, Pentium, Pentium MMX, Pentium Pro and Pentium II systems, and its program code is really fast!
