Brief Biography
I was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I attended Lutheran grade schools and Concordia Lutheran High School. I met my wife, Christine, while attending Concordia Teachers College in River Forest, Illinois. We were married 2 days after graduation. I did a year of graduate studies at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyoming. We moved to the Bay Area in northern California where I taught high school and jr. college for four years. I completed a Masters degree in Mathematics at California State University in Hayward. I switched professions to programming and two years later we moved to the Los Angeles area. Twenty-five years later we moved to Silicon Valley.We have 4 children and 6 grandchildren. Two of our children, David and Karen, graduated from California State University, Chico. Our youngest child, Karen, completed a post-graduate course at Oregon Health Sciences Institute and is now a Registered Dietitian.
Interests
- Music - I enjoy listening to many types of music ranging from classical to jazz to New Age. I also sing in our church choir.
- Sports - I enjoy watching the NBA and college basketball (Remember, I grew up in Indiana.) My favorite baseball team is the Angels. I have completed 2 L.A. Marathons (don't ask the times). I like to play ping-pong and pool.
- Games - I like to play all kinds of card games and enjoy a good game of chess.
