FREE JAVA - CREATE YOUR OWN JAVA

bar gif [1,869 bytes]

Java and JavaScript are a great way to enhance the look of your Web Page.
The only thing to remember when using Java and/or Java Scripts on your Web Page is that, only Java capable Browsers will be able to read it.

  • JAVA - is an object orientated programming language which allows you to embed cross-platform programs (or applet) into your Web Pages.
eg: an applet is stored on the server and then is loaded onto your page.
  • JAVASCRIPT - is a scripting language which allows you to add browser-interpretable commands to your page. eg: JavaScript is stored on your Web Page and is run by the Web Browser.

A lot of people that I know (including myself) would prefer to use JavaScript rather the Java (applet), but once again, it all comes down to the Web masters own preferences.
You can get some great JavaScript that display the last time your page was updated, the local time of the viewer, making images change when the mouse is passed over it and many more cool little dittys.

I have used a bit of JavaScript on this Site, if you are viewing in Frames mode you will be able to see the top frame has an 'access' quick link.
Also being used is Javascript for a Welcome command on the 'intro' page that you may have viewed.

If you want to find out more about Java and it's development in the world today, hop on over to the site of the Developer SUN MICROSYSTEMS.
