These pages are dedicated to peace and understanding. Even though they mostly show warships from different nations all the encounters happened under a peaceful atmosphere during the cold war period. Many of the photos taken at open sea originate from a time in the late 1980s and early 1990s when the former Sovjet Union was still the leading country in the Warsaw pact and Germany still was divided into two parts by a concrete wall. Some more photos show international military and civil ships meeting once a year in the harbour of Kiel/Germany to celebrate communication and understanding between different countries. As the Web has nowadays advanced to a communication medium between people worldwide, it is my opinion that these pictures belong here, too.
