My favorite friends at Finnegan's 2

This website contains a gallery of pictures taken with the lovely bartenders and waitresses at Finnegan's 2 located at 942 Lincoln Road at Michigan in South Beach.  I enjoy coming for the music, the excellent customer service, the bartenders and waitresses (Oh, I forgot, I mentioned that already), and to play NTN trivia several times a week.

Interestingly enough, I could play NTN at a restaurant less than a mile from my apartment in Kendall, but I choose to travel 1 1/2 hours by 2 buses and Metrorail because the atmosphere is so much friendlier, and because the Argentinean men and women who work there are very polite, not to mention the American ones too!

But just don't take my word for it. Even the July 1, 2004 edition of the SunPost  free weekly newspaper agrees, in three categories, no less!

This Argentine native can efficiently mix drinks and converse at the same time. And to see her in a tight cut-off shirt is definitely a sight to behold. Yes, the male customers here also wish she was on the other side of the bar.

The Kay family learned a thing or two when they first opened the Clevelander. The most important lesson: that cover charges suck. That spirit of openness was transmitted to their new establishments of Finnegan's and Finnegan's 2 after Clevelander's sale, in the form of their drink prices: they are pretty reasonable even by suburban standards, downright cheap by South Beach and Downtown Miami levels and - during Happy Hour - darn near nothing. Any wonder why those who work and live in South Beach flock to the establishments on Lincoln Road and Ocean Drive after 5 p.m.? And a friendly staff, a good juke box selection, televised trivia and an eclectic mixture of customers keeps these same happy hour drinkers drinking until 10 p.m.,2 a.m., even 5 a.m.

Although I am sure Brenda did not learn her fabulous skills from this school, the article does mention in passing, "....or Brenda juggling 20 customers at one time at Finnegan's and think to yourself, "God, I want to be them"?

Of course, this does not mean that any of the other fine bartenders at Finnegan's 2 are any less important, they deserve some recognition too for the fine work they do.
