Want to know where to eat in Saratoga Springs after playing the ponies?

I hope that you enjoy this guide.

If you have a place you would like to add, let me know!!NICHOLAC@GEOCITIES.COM

Olde Bryan Inn

Maple Ave

A special place to me and my wife. This is the place I proposed to her. Recent expansion has cut the waiting down. But, you will still have time for a drink or two at the bar on a weekend in the summer. The food here is spectacular. The owners have two other spots in the area, but I think this is the best. Try any of the dishes. Between the many visits I've had with friends and family, we've tried just about all of the selections on the menu.

Lillian's

Broadway

Wheatfields

Broadway

A different spin on Italian. All of their pasta is made on premise. Their bread is the best in Saratoga. A must.

Gaffney's

Phila Street

Gaffney's is two places in one. On one side it is the typical restaurant that you might find anywhere. On the other side, it is the rowdy vacation-land bar you find everywhere. Best bet here is to go to the restaurant section, after the ponies have gone. My wife and I like the tastes and the variety of the menu.

The Old Firehouse

Broadway

If you like ribs, come here when in Saratoga. The serve them up big and tasty. Rarely do my wife and I order the same thing. This is one place where we do. The atmosphere is unique, as it is really the old Saratoga Spring's fire house.

Scallion's

Broadway

This is a nice family run restaurant with a delicious menu. It might be hard to get in during the saeson, as there are not many seats. The food is wonderful and the staff knows what they are doing. Give them a try!
Coffee Bars:

Uncommon Grounds

Broadway

Don't go the safe way and visit a large chain coffee shop. Stop in and see the art on the wall. It's for sale most of the time and I've picked up a piece or two. The coffee is fresh roasted and ground daily. They have a large selection of specialty drinks as well. You can even get tea or Italian sodas if you don't care for coffee.
bars:

The Original Saratoga Springs Brew Pub (OSSPB)

I'm biased, but this is the best brew pub in the world. I have spent a considerable amount of time here in the last year or so.

Aiko's

The Partin' Glass

A great Irish bar. Try the buffalo burger. The meat is leaner and tastier than you can imagine.
