Caldera on Friday released NetWare for Linux 1.0 -- a move that further validates the growing popularity of Linux as an enterprise computing platform.

NetWare for Linux 1.0 offers native support for Novell's NetWare file, print, and directory services. Features of this release include NetWare 4.10b-compatible file services; compatibility with NetWare clients for Microsoft Windows 95, Windows 3.1, DOS, Linux, Macintosh, and UnixWare; the ability to forward NetWare print jobs to Linux hosted printers; Linux NetWare client; and a fully capable Novell Directory Services (NDS) server, according to the company.

A three-user version of NetWare for Linux is available for download at no charge from Caldera's Web site at http://www.caldera.com/products/netware. A 25-user license pack starts at $1,875.

Caldera Inc., in Orem, Utah, can be reached at http://www.caldera.com.
