Almost Everything You Need to Know About Your
Packard Bell Computer
Video
Notes:
Video Upgrades -
Disabling Onboard Video -
Most of the newer Packard Bell Pentium Systems have an onboard video
that will disable it's self. This is true for the Cirrus Logic and
S3 Video.
(THERE ARE NO JUMPERS)
Disable Onboard Video in Win 95 -
If you find that Win95 keeps detecting the onboard cirrus logic video
every time you start your system. "Then try going to Control Panel/System/Device
Manager, highlight the Cirrus Logic, go to properties and remove the check
mark from original configuration. It'll still show up in your device manager
as being disabled but at least it won't try to reload everytime you start
your machine." - Usenet post. this may work with some systems.
See my Installation in my Stealth
II S220 article for a picture of what my disabled video looks like in device
manager.
Disable Drivers -
For some reason Diamonds directions had me disable the drivers before
I installed the new video card. This may need to be done on other
video cards as well. See my Installation
in my Stealth S220 article for more info of what I went through to instal
my video card.
