Going to work on a hot summer morning
Saw something that really caught my eye
There she was busy stopping traffic
You could feel the heat as I watched her hit her stride
So I said, “Hey, Babe, where you going?”
She turned and looked me in the eye
She said, “Where I am going the heat is going to rise”
“And if your AC works then you can give me a ride”
And I said, “Come on in, it’s nice and cool inside”
(chorus)
She can’t stand the heat
She gotta cool down
She’s looking so sweet
Gonna have a meltdown
Well I cranked up the cool and tried to stay calm
But the way she looked so good made that kind of hard
I was sweating bullets as I dropped her off at her place
She said thanks for the ride, but it’s cooler now outside
As she walked away I could only roll my eyes
(chorus)
She can’t stand the heat
She gotta cool down
She’s looking so sweet
Gonna have a meltdown
