I am in love with music. Without it, I would surely go mad. I gotta listen, play, or write it whenever I can. I can play guitar and bass with relative success, as well as sing and play piano/keyboard with similar success. I'm the jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none when it comes to playing music. Writing on the other hand is what gives me the greatest feeling of all. I really want to go back to school and major in music composition, though that's probably a dream that'll only come true if I win the lottery or something.

Guitar History:

I play guitar until my fingers hurt. I started back in '93 at college fooling around with a dormmate's guitar. If you're out their Craig, thanks, man. Once I got my hands on a guitar of my own, I played Nirvana until I got sick of 'em. BTW, Kurt Cobain and I shared the same birthday, February 20. From Nirvana to Stone Temple Pilots to Pearl Jam, Alice and Chains, I played just about everything I could, with varying degrees of success (or failure). I learned the entire Dookie album. Green Day has got to be one of the easiest guitar parts to play, next to the Ramones, of course. Recently I've started to play some of Al Petteway's music. Al who you say? Check it out. Here's a sample of one of his songs: Midsummer Moon. It's a mono 11025Hz 21 second clip (234kb).

I've been tracking music with Jeffrey Lim's Impulse Tracker 2.14r3 off and on since early '98. You may ask "What is 'tracking'?" Well, here's three places to go:

Okay, here are the first songs I've posted. If any trackers see this, please check it out and give me feedback. I know right now that I need to work on the intros to the songs at the very least, and my first ones have too much percussion.
Note: I wrote these on an AWE64 Gold and therefore don't know exactly how it sounds on a non-AWE card. Be gentle, please.

The Darkside - posted 09/30/98 - Originally just an attempt to use sound clips from Star Wars in a song, I made this for my own enjoyment. There are no resonance filters, so that shouldn't pose a problem for anyone. I hope John Williams will forgive me for adding his Imperial March theme...

Through the Wasteland - posted 10/05/98 - My first somewhat completed attempt at tracking. There are resonance filters, so that may pose a problem for those without MMX processors or SoundBlaster AWE cards. Probably won't matter too much though.

Down the Unknown Road - posted 10/05/98 - My second "song", which sounds better to me than "Wasteland".
