I wore out one, shot out the neighbors street lights, hit a taxi, shot a yappin dog and used the local baseball team for target practice. They still luv us and keep coming back for more. Many hours of entertainment and an easy way to plant spuds. Sched le 80 pipe and Triple FFF black powder are a hoot too. Really rocks the town. Gotta run when cops arrive.

We created the exact launcher several years ago when we worked @ an Illinois coal mine. We found that if you screw four drywall screws at the end of the 1 1/2"pipe, right before the reducer, this will keep your projectile from entering the combustion chamber, also we taperd the end of the barrel so that when we pushed the potato, apple (orga ic projectile) in the barrel it would self contour to the barrel, leaving no voids for air to escape. yo , i was looking ove some of your ideas and thought that you could buid a nice spudgun from a kind of plastic thats called "ppv" , i used it on my first gun , and even if i totaly blokked the pipe i could not bloww it apart , fucking strong pipe if you ask me. obs,this material is ungluable , so tru the following : first use a wery hot needle to make a hole for a skrew , then quickly when the ppv is still hot ,screww it in. whit this setup ,ya dont have to worry about blowing pipes.

Hey, cool website! I've had a potato cannon for 4 years now- works great. Mine is mounted on a variable inclination stand and uses a McDonald's fryvat igniter for launch. I've achieved 1/4 mile launches with aquanet but have not tried carb cleaner. Thanx or the info and good luck!

good plans but the igniter will wear out the way your making it.you should put two srews on each side of the combustion chamber so there almost touching then attach a wire to each srew and atach both wires to the grill igniter. this way the grill igniter on't be in the explosion and it will last a lot longer.

Nice site. For high performance simply use highly falmable spray paint. Whoa! does it ever huck em. To clean threads simply spray some in them, and light on fire. Quickly blow out after 3-4 seconds, Another good thing to use is a lantern lighter/flicker. works great.

i jsut found out how to increase your distance dramatically! just simply put the object to be shot barely in the barrel, just so it isnt sticking out. then put your hairspray in and shut the combustion chamber. then jsut jam the object down the barrel ll the way(make sure you dont wet the thing off, be careful) and then shoot. the reason that that works better, is because the pressure gets higher when you jam the object down, and when u light the hairspray, it jsut works so much better! well, have fu !

This isn't that bad,b ut you need more powerful and sophistiated guns to attract more people.I have designed and built about 5 spudguns well I got the plans for one off the internet.I have built lots of powerful guns like one powered by methyacetelyene a d pure oxygen it is LOUD!I have achived distances of over 3000 feet with regular spuds and atleast 5000 feet with homemade resin bullets and pvc constructed bullets.Well bye hope your page gets cooler.
