David's Odyssey combined some elements of the successful David's Java Gallery as well as incorporating new sections and applets. This website returned some focus to visual appeal. The theme of the site was Java and movies.

The website also saw the inclusion of RealMedia sound and animation files which added a dynamic side to the otherwise mostly static content.

There were around a dozen awards won by David's Odyssey. Many of the awards were difficult of obtain, but none more so than becoming an Australian Internet Awards Finalist 1998. Other awards won by the site included Ravi's Elite Site Award and the PersonalConnections Innovation Award just to name a few.
