Titanic

Directed by James Cameron, this is the true story of the Titanic, the ship many people said was unsinkable. The movie is about two lovers, Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Rose Dewitt Bukater (Kate Winslet).

The film opens with a group of deep sea treasure hunters searching the sunken ship. They find a picture of a beautiful woman with a necklace. An old woman sees this televised find and tells them that she is the woman in the picture. She then begins to tell her tale.

Jack is a poor American boy who wins tickets on the Titanic so he can go home from England. He meets Rose on the ship who is unhappily engaged to a rich jerk (Billy Zane) and falls in love.

Titanic is separated from other disaster movies because it really did happen. There were probably hundreds of similar heartbreaking love stories.

Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio both put on a miraculous performances. The cinematography was captivating and the music suited the movie. James Cameron has done a spectacular job turning this disaster movie into a masterpiece that really stirs the imagination.
