My Work
-
Well, I am a Kulachi Alumni - I did my schooling from the Kulachi Hansraj Model School, Delhi, from 1979 to 1992. Selected in AIIMS in 1992 and completed my MBBS in Jan'98. I have done residency from AIIMS, New Delhi.
I have worked on and contributed 5 chapters in "Corneal Transplanation" which has been edited by Prof. Rasik B. Vajpayee.
"Corneal Transplantation" published by Jaypee Bros. (Delhi) & internationally by Highlights Of Ophthalmology

This book has been translated into Spanish as well!! Here's the link to the Spanish edition >
Spanish "Transplante de Cornea" published by Highlights Of Ophthalmology
Moreover, I have worked on and contributed 5 chapters in "Step by Step LASIK Surgery".

Both these books are under the editorship of Prof. Rasik B. Vajpayee, renowned Eye Specialist specialising in Cornea, Phacoemulsification and Refractive surgery. He is Head of Cornea and Refractive Surgery at R P Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences, AIIMS, New Delhi, INDIA. I worked for one year as Research Associate under his guidance.

I finished 1 year Clinical Fellowship in Glaucoma at University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC, Canada on July 2003 - June 2004 under Dr. Frederick S. Mikelberg, Prof of Ophthalmology at UBC.
I then worked for 2 months as Clinical Research Fellow in Ophthalmology, Division of Glaucoma. with Dr. F S Mikelberg,
& Prof. Nicholas Swindale, Division of Glaucoma,
Dept. of Ophthalmology,
University of British Columbia
Vancouver, Canada

Vancouver, by the way, is a really beautiful city.

Then, I went to Boston, USA for my 1 year Harvard Clinical Fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus from Sep 2004 - Aug 2005, at Harvard Medical School, Massachussetts Eye & Ear Infirmary. After finishing the fellowship, I came back to Delhi, India.

My interests are:
-
Computers, music, sports & spirituality!
Medical news and the latest advances interest me a lot, particularly the way technology and Internet are revolutionising the communication and knowledge dissipation in the medical field.
I cycle a lot and play many sports and am particularly good in Table tennis.
Music is the soul of life and melody is the essence of sweet music. I love the soul stirring tunes and melodious songs of Hindi Films. I love Hindi golden oldies - songs sung from 50's to 80's by Lata, Mukesh, Mohd. Rafi, Manna Dey, Yesudas and who can forget, the great Kishore Kumar with R.D. Burman. Udit Narayan and A. R. Rahman (of Roja fame) are my favorites from the current Hindi music era.
In English music, melodious songs by Bryan Adams, Queen, Cher take the cake. Lately, I have been introduced to Jazz music and classical instrumental concerts featuring tunes by Mozart and Bath, right here in Vancouver - I like them too.
Yoga provides succour, rest and recuperation to me after this world's undue stress has taken its toll. Bhagvad Gita has the profound knowledge which guides me - the edition by S. Radhakrishnan (published by Harper Collins, India) is recommended for those who want an insight into what Gita is all about. Arya Samaj and its Vedic principles have been ingrained into me since early childhood. God is the Supreme being and I am just a negligible aspect in his scheme of things. Attaining connection with Him is my constant endeavour, One with Whom I can constantly converse, while working and living through my role in life, as ordained by Him.
