Peer Ratings

Anonymous evaluation of the program in terms of overall quality, maintainability, extensibility, usability and clarity. The purpose it to provide the programmer with self-evaluation.

At least 6 people must participate to make this anonymous. Each must have similar backgrounds so the evaluators do not stand out. 6-20 people can participate.

Each programmer selects two programs. One example of their best work, one example of their poorer work. Each person will evaluate 4 programs of the group for 30 minutes.

A rating should be filled out.

Statistical Collection

After the review, the participants are given the anonymous evaluation forms for their two contributed programs with a statistical summary showing the overall and detailed ranking of their original programs across the entire set of programs.

The rating given by their program evaluation will be compared with the ratings of other reviews of those programs.

The purpose is to allow programmers to self-assess their programming skills.
