Rogers AT&T Cellular Information

For those looking for Roam Numbers to use on the Rogers AT&T system, they are still available to AT&T customers from the US only. If you are a Rogers AT&T (formerly Cantel) customer, the roam numbers have been blocked for use, as I was told due to system upgrades and no longer compatiable. Which makes no sense as to why our American counterparts can still use the numbers while roaming in Canada. This just sounds like a way to increase revenue through long distance charges. I have complained about this and have received a long distance discount right after the numbers being blocked, I do not think they will give the discounts anymore for no extra charge.

Message Waiting Indicator *38 (SND) *380 (SND) No Charge in Alantic Canada.
This was for older analog phones with no indicator on the screen.
When activated, the system would call you and inform you of a waiting message.
If you did not answer, the system would repeat calling every few minutes,
this has killed my car battery over a 12 hour period.
Not sure if this still works this way or on newer phones.
(Message Waiting Incicator is not available for the Amigo Message Center)

Directory Assistance 411 (SND) $0.95 for call plus air time.

For Call Forwarding, it does not matter if the number is long distance or not, but if it is long distance from your home area then you have to add 1-xxx. Long distance toll applies

The first 2500 minutes of a forwarded call in a month is no charge, with every minute after 2500 @ $.10/min. (Subject to change without notice) Not sure if this is still correct.

If you subscribe to mobile message then you cannot activate Busy Forward or No Answer Forwarding.

For Three way calling and call waiting commands.

1 (SND), Disconnect from present call and switch to waiting call.
2 (SND), Switch from present call to waiting call.
3 (SND), Merge both calls togeather for three-way call.

Three-way call cost double airtime and applicable Long Distance Charges.

To call a third party with a call already in progress, enter the number to be called on the touch tone keypad and press (SND)
I now own a Nokia 101 and unlike my old Uniden bag phone which tones each number as it is displayed, the Nokia must be done manually. With the Nokia 101, when placing a third party number from memory, retreve the number from the memory location. When the proper number is displayed from memory press (MENU) (8). This will sound the tones for the number displayed. After the tones are finished press (SND) and the third party will be called. In order to connect for a three way call, all calls must be answered or the system will disconnect the ringing call and switch to the connected call.

If you own a Nokia 2160 you have to call up the number and hold the SND button. If you are trying to call another cellular through the roam numbers, it is best to know the number you are calling. It is nearly impossible to get a number from memory and have the tones sent with this phone in time.

For Cantel System Identification (SID) to Canadian Cities. The roaming numbers have been discontinued for Canadian Subscribers but still usable for American Subscribers travelling in Canada.
If you are in Alantic Canada, your incoming long distance is free for incoming calls in your home province only. Be aware of being close to the US, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, PEI or Quebec depending on which is your home province.

The rest of Canada will be charged for all incoming long distance when not near your home calling area. When visiting or traveling thru parts of Canada bordering the United States, your call may be routed thru a US cellular tower, this can be costly. If you do get charged, you can call and state that you were in Canada but inadvertenly used a cellular tower in the US, the charges will usually be removed usually with little difficulty. This is common when traveling along Highway 401 in Ontario and in or near Edmunston, New Brunswick.
