DoubleTwist Inc., Oakland, CA (July 2000 – March 2002) as Chief Software Architect and Engineering Manager
Roles: Chief Software Architect, Engineering Manager, Supreme Technical Lead & XP Coach

Initiated and formulated Architectural vision and road map for DoubleTwist with the Architecture team.
Lead the architectural team of Senior Architects in solving architectural challenges, architecting for new products, technology evaluations, recommendations etc.
Created several innovative solutions including free HTTPS support in Java for JDK 1.1.8 and below using several open source libraries and custom development, created several Ant extensions for enabling creation of our fully automated build system (developed by my team) for a componentized world, created a very successful framework and tool for creating automated acceptance tests for all of our products (QA created over 700 fully automated acceptance tests using it in about a person-month, which runs every night) etc.
Introduced and evangelized Extreme Programming at DoubleTwist, leading to its successful adoption across the company. Acting as XP coach and mentor for the organization.
Evaluated and introduced several industry standards and open source technologies like Ant, Junit, HttpUnit, Apache, Tomcat (successfully replacing ATG Dynamo), JSP and Servlet Standards etc.
Created, suggested and reviewed software architecture, technical and functional designs, performed design and code reviews.
Planned for development outsourcing.
Lead product development of Quick Tools/ DoubleTwist BLAST, several infrastructure projects, formulated several guidelines and standards (like Unit Testing guidelines and standards, componentization etc.) for engineering.
Managed three teams (Tools, Infrastructure and Services), as Engineering Manager and Supreme Technical Lead, of 9 people.
My stock options were
doubled within a few months of joining the company. I was promoted four times in less than 12 months.

Roles: Product Lead, Technical Lead, Project Lead and Sr. Developer

I was the technical and product lead for Expense Report and Travel Plan product, our primary revenue earners. I was responsible for day to day management of the development group. I worked as Sr. Developer and Technical Lead for the Timesheet product. My team designed and developed the functional specification for Project Accounting Gateway, Oracle PA integration and Charge Code selection component with input from Marketing, Sales and Professional Services. We received excellent feedback from our customers. It was a very successful product.

My stock options were doubled in recognition of my efforts within 6 months of joining.

Formula Systems - worked for and at Sun Microsystems Inc. Mountain View and Milpitas, (Dec 1996 to Jan 1998) as Sr. Software Developer

Design and development of Daily Ship Report Generation Application, which automated the manual process of generating and viewing of Daily Ship Report for customer and factory data for use by the top and middle management of Sun Microsystems Computer Company at the Head Quarters and geographic regions. Design and development of Executive Information System for world wide sales with summarization and drill-down capabilities similar to OLAP. Design and development of Multimedia Presentation Toolkit in Java for lowering the cost of in-house education and training.

Infosys Technologies - worked for J.P. Morgan at Bangalore, India and at J. P. Morgan, New York, (Jun 1995 to Nov 1996) As Software Developer
Roles: Software Developer, Project Lead

As lead and key developer for Porting of Messaging Libraries (MML) from SunOS/Solaris to Windows NT & Windows 3.1 we completed the project in record time with zero defects. Designed and developed Test suites for real time messaging libraries and applications & Morgan Data Monitor for continuously monitor in real time the stock prices of stocks in different stock exchanges worldwide
