Remember Voltes V? If you don't remember the greatest
hero of our childhood that means you are very old
now. To give you a recap, Voltes V was shut down
during the Marcos era due to the violence of the
cartoons...this ban also goes with Daimos, Mazinger
Z, Mekanda, Grandizer, etc...the ending of Voltes V
was never shown...this e-mail is being circulated to
give those children, who were deprived, to know at
least the ending of the story. At the same time, a

------------------ THE STORY ---------------------

The story of Voltes V began from a planet far away
from Earth. The planet was called Bozania, a
Saturn-like planet but which had two rings and was
4324 parsecs away from Earth (1 parsec =3.26 light
years).There lived two kinds of people, people that
have horns on their heads called "The Bourgeoisie"
(in the Philippines, they were called the Nobility)and
the people who are born without horns who worked as
the Bourgeoisie's slaves all their lives.
One day, the King of Bozania had a baby, a son.
Unfortunately, he had no horns! At first, the King
wanted to kill the baby but the Queen forbade him.
So, they made false horns for the baby. Nobody knew
about this, except for the royal doctor. The baby was
named Lagour (Ragooru in Japanese).
Lagour grew up to be an intelligent, wise man. He
married a girl named Rozalia. Not long after that
happy moment, the King died. So Lagour was to be
crowned the new King of Bozania. The King's envious
brother wanted to become the king so on the day of
the crowning, he snapped the false horns off Lagour's
head (he learned about the false horns after
torturing the royal doctor) and had the soldiers drag
Lagour to prison where he would spend the rest of his
life as a slave. The King's brother proclaimed
himself the new Bozanian King and was referred to as
So Lagour was separated from his wife, Rozalia, and
never saw her since.He just received news one day
that she had died. Unknown to Lagour was that
Rozalia was pregnant when was sent to the dungeon.

In the dungeon, Lagour met many friends and he
learned a lot about life and injustice. He met a
Bourgeois who cut his own horns to become a slave.
The man was Drag (in the Philippines, his name was
Watson). He found out that the Emperor wanted to
conquer Earth and make all the people their slaves.
Both made a plan and managed to escape to Earth,to
Lagour changed his name to Dr. Armstrong. He married
a woman, a professor, referred to as Mrs. Armstrong,
with whom he had three sons: Steve, Big Bert, and
Little John. Dr. Armstrong teamed up with Dr. Smith
and General Robinson to anticipate the coming of the
Bozanians. They created a defense headquarters called
Camp Big Falcon, and a super robot called Voltes V.
Then Dr. Armstrong disappeared. The robot was
assembled from five vehicles. Each was piloted by a
talented person. They are the three sons of Dr.
Armstrong, Jamie Robinson (the daughter of General
Robinson), and Mark Gordon.
The Bozanians came under the command of Zardoz. Also
on hand to assist Zardoz were Zandra, Drako, and
Zuhl. At the first attack, Mrs. Armstrong, the mother
of the three, was killed. And the Bozanians made
their headquarters (castle) in an underground cave in
Later on, Dr. Smith was killed and was then replaced
by his colleague,Dr. Hook, who took charge of Camp
Big Falcon. Also, while fighting the Bozanian robot
Daian, General Robinson was killed.
Meanwhile, on the Bozanian side, there was a
competition between Zuhl and Drako in making tougher
robots to beat VoltesV. Zuhl, once punished by
Zardoz for his failure, hated Zardoz and wanted to
When Zardoz decided to attack Voltes V himself using
a panther robot called Gargo, Zuhl, ordered by Zaki
(the emperor's henchmen), gave Voltes V the blueprint
of Gargo so they could learn the robot's weak point.
Zandra found out about it in later episodes, and Zuhl
was put to death for treason. To replace Zuhl, a
Bozanian commander named Bergen was sent. He also
didn't like Zardoz but didn't do anything against him.
What happened to Dr. Armstrong? He was actually
kidnapped by the Bozanian army. But then he escaped.
Together with another Bozanian escapee named Dior,
they secretly built a sophisticated defense quarters
in the Alpen Mountains, deep in a mountain cavern.
There, Dr. Armstrong planned to build the Solar
Eagle, the partner of Camp Big Falcon. The Alpen
cavern also sheltered a big colony of Bozanian slaves
who managed to escape to Earth.
General Gururu from Bozania came. After Zardoz
destroyed the Alpen headquarters, Gururu kidnapped
Dr. Armstrong but eventually showed Voltes V the way
to Zardoz's castle. The battle between Voltes and
Zardoz was unavoidable. Drako killed himself after
he was defeated in a duel with the Voltes V team who
wanted to arrest him. Zardoz wanted to fight Voltes V
but Zandra shot him with tranquilizers and took him
to Bozania. Bergen activated a Magmait Nuclear Bomb
that had enough power to destroy the Earth. Voltes V
could not disarm the bomb! At the critical moment,
Solar Eagle appeared, piloted by Dior. He managed to
grab the bomb and throw it out to space. Camp Big
Falcon was actually a gigantic spaceship. It rose to
the sky then Solar Eagle came. Both then got
connected to each other. Afterwards, the Falcon
space-warped 5 times to reach Bozania.
As they approached Bozania, the Emperor released his
secret weapon, Sodom and Gomorrah. These were a pair
of gigantic man-made satellites that could create an
electric storm. The Falcon successfully escaped the
storm by warping and was finally able to enter the
atmosphere of Bozania. Dior immediately made contact
with his fellowmen in the dungeon and all the slaves
rebelled against the Bourgeoisie. They freed Dr.
Armstrong from his cell. The slaves quickly gained
victory with the aid of Voltes V.
The story climaxed when the three brothers finally
met their father, Dr. Armstrong. Suddenly, Zardoz
appeared and then had a sword duel with Steve. No one
won, as both their swords were broken. Zardoz grabbed
his knife but then Dr. Armstrong recognized the knife
as Rozalia's. Zardoz said that the knife was his
mother's. Dr. Armstrong then realized that Zardoz
was actually his son from Rozalia, and he was the big
brother of Steve. Zardoz won't believe it. Dr.
Armstrong asked Zardoz to look at the knife's grip
saying that it bears the symbol of Bozanian peace. With
trembling hands, Zardoz looked at the grip and was
shocked to find a picture of a pair of doves on it.
Suddenly, the Emperor appeared carrying treasures and
blaming Zardoz, saying that it was Zardoz's idea to
attack Earth. Zardoz threw the knife at him.
Unfortunately, the Emperor was carrying a grenade. It
exploded but Zardoz spontaneously covered Steve and
saved him from the explosion. The explosion caused a
crack on the ground and they were separated by a
large gap and fire. Steve shouted at Zardoz calling
"Niisan" (Brother) and also Dr. Armstrong calling his
name. Zardoz looked shocked and said slowly to Dr.

The battle was over. Dr. Armstrong then became the
