Suncoast Motion Pictures Co., May, 1991 - May, 1992:
Suncoast was a little slow paced, but my next job,
for the next three years, erased all aspects of that. While working as the "Third Key"/Assistant Department Head at Suncoast Motion Pictures Co., I first learned about
management and the importance of working as a team. As the "Third Key", I was
in charge of opening and closing the store, handling the cash drawers and deposits, and
supervising the employees when the manager was absent.
Home Depot, May, 1992 - May, 1995:
"Home Depot is the 'Mother of Retail Stores'", our manager first
told us during orientation, and I quickly understood why. Out of the three years
that I was employed there, there was not one single day where I had to "find something
to do". It's a very fast paced, some say "chaotic", environment, and that's
the kind of job I like; one that keeps me busy.
As the Assistant Department Head in the Lighting Department, I placed orders every week, contacted the vendors to insure on-time delivery, displayed fixtures, and supervised the employees whenever the manager was absent. I also attended several courses in Management Training.
I am proud to say that because of my employment at Home Depot, I have yet to see another job out there that can over-work me, or surprise me with a "fast-pased" environment.
