StyxVis v1.1 ------------ Matthew (StyxLord) Versluys styxlord@hotmail.com Changes: -------- v1.1 - Fixed lockup when pausing winamp and then closing plugin - Added configurable support for the fullscreen video mode so that people who can't use 320x200x32 can now see the fullscreen version. To change the mode the following directives can be modified in the [StyxVis] section of the plugin.ini file in the plugin folder of winamp. FullScreenWidth=320 FullScreenHeight=200 FullScreenDepth=32 These are the default settings ... I suggest changing the FullScreenDepth to 15,16 or 24 for people who can't get 32 to work. Setting it to 8 does work, but it looks ugly (palette woes) If you decide to go to higher resolution modes (higher than 320x200) StyxVis will center itself on the screen but it won't upscale. - Made the error reporting when it fails to go to fullscreen more helpful. - Added yet another option, so that song time can be displayed. - Made configuration version idependent (you'll probably want to rename the [StyxVis v1.0] sections of the plugin.ini file to [StyxVis], sorry about this it should have been version non-specific to start with). - Switched to Visual C/C++ 6.0 which explains the extra bloated size of the DLL :) - Work has begun on StyxVis 2.0 .... gonna be a couple months tho. v1.0 - First Released Version (there were MANY betas) Notes: ------ StyxVis is a Windowed/FullScreen WinAmp plug-in. It has been tested with WinAmp 1.90 and above (up to 1.92). To change the many options right click on the plug-in window. There are a couple of built-in key combinations. - ALT+ENTER Toggles FullScreen/Windowed Mode - ALT+PGUP Switch to the previous configuration - ALT+PGDOWN Switch to the next configuration The available options are many which allows you to really customize this plug-in to suit you taste. Since there are so many options, your favorite configurations can be saved in the configuration manager. Some sample configurations are included by the development team and the BETA testers. Available options: Blur ---- Blurring is the main feature of StyxVis. It can be used to produce fire like effects or just general blurring. Blur Speed ---------- This allows control over how fast the blur fades. There are four settings from Normal (the slowest) to Super Fast. Color Scheme ------------- There are four predefined color schemes but most users will want to pick a custom color scheme by selecting Customize. Correction ---------- The raw data from WinAmp is a little non-exciting. Correction allows you to change the scale at which the data is displayed. Position -------- The display can be moved to the top, middle or bottom of the window. Maximums -------- This setting controls the rate of decay for the maximums (the little dots which are pushed up by the lines and fall away). Song Name --------- The current song name can be displayed at various locations in the window. Sony Time --------- The track time for the current song can be displayed after the track name. There are four settings. Off won't display any time at all. Time displays the elapsed time for the current track. Remaining displays the remaining time for the current track. Dual displays the elapsed time and the total track time for the current track. Scope ----- The scopes show the left and right channels as a function of time. Track WinAmp ------------ Allows the window to be set so that when WinAmp is moved StyxVis will follow right along. It can be turned off so that StyxVis can be moved independently of Winamp should you desire it. This option is not saved with each configuration but is a global setting. Resolution ---------- There are three resolution levels, which control the "chunkyness" of the display. Clear Screen ------------ Clears the display Full Screen ----------- Changes StyxVis to full screen. Note, FullScreen depends upon DirectX being installed. The visualizer works with Win95/Win98 and WinNT (SP3). Configurations -------------- Allows configurations to be saved and loaded and even renamed. About ----- Displays the about box.
