Diablo is now a much more stronger and formidable opponent. So strong now, that the previous 3 character classes do not return for the game's sequel...

Instead Diablo II will host 5 new character classes. Of these new character classes, each will house different and unique abilities, each with different strengths and weaknesses. There are now 2 fighting character classes, 2 magical character classes, and 1 hybrid character class. The two warrior type classes are the Amazon warrior, and the Barbarian; the two magical classes are the Sorceress, and the Necromancer; and the Hybrid character is the Paladin.
