Install instructions:
Server
1. Stop the WinGate engine by going to
Start/Programs/WinGate/Stop WinGate Engine.
2. Close the WG Engine Monitor (tray app) by right clicking the
icon and selecting exit.
3. Execute wingate30rc19x.exe (Win95/998) or wingate30rc1nt.exe
(NT).
4. Follow the onscreen prompts, ensure the "Configure this
machine as a WinGate Server" radio button is selected.
5. The WG Engine Monitor will activate on the next system
startup. To manually start it, navigate to the WinGate
installation directory and execute WGEngMon.exe.
Client
Note: The client app can not be installed on Windows NT. Windows NT clients must be configured to utilize WinGate 3.0 in the same fashion as WinGate 2.x (application configuration to function through a proxy server). WinGate 3.0 Home only supports Win95/98 clients.
1. Perform the WinGate server installation (above).
2. Ensure any internet applications that execute at startup are
disabled or removed from the startup group (ICQ, etc...)
3. Restart the client PC.
4. Execute wingate30rc19x.exe or wingate30rc1nt.exe (either
executable can be used on the client pc).
5. Follow the onscreen prompts, ensure the "Configure this
machine as a WinGate Client" radio button is selected.
