So, I go connect to a game on another server, ("connect 128.118.216.9, ooh, I'm loading...!").......

No sooner had I joined the game than I heard the someone say :-
"HEY, SPIDERBAT!! ARE YOU GUYS GONNA PORT THAT 1.5 NH TO Q3??!!"

I looked, and saw it was the console talking.. (flashbacks, flashbacks.. earl grey tea?)
That was like someone throwing a monkey wrench, and a speed bump rolled into one..
(you don't know HOW MUCH that flipped me out. A million things were goin' through my mind.
Not the least of them was, "Are one of the bats here and playing with me?")
Who the hell was the console? MAX? MacQuakers play Q1, how does he know so much about our Q2 mod? How does this person know me? Are any of the bats here? I thought I was the only one with a Mac? Is this their way of letting me know they are here? Where are they? IS he a bat? WHO the hell is this person?
PLUS, yer brain is STILL trying to assimilate Q3, and my brain was flipping back to Q2 mode...

"Pardon me, but How the hell do you know about NightHunters?"
"Oh NightHunters? I love that mod!! "
"You guys do a good job with that mod! I play it all the time!"

(Well, oh gee, a fan...) :-)

"Well, I think I can say, sincerely, from all the bats, a hearty thank-you.... and a big bat wave."
"Is 1.5 finished yet?"
"You guys gonna port NightHunters to Quake 3?"
"Who are you?"
"I mean, what name do you use when you play on the server? Just so I can tell the guys that I ran into a fan while playing Q3."
"@>>CREEP<<@"
"Well, we just got the 1.5 out the door, and that should be the last one for Q2...."
"And yes, we are going to port it to Q3."
"Cool! NightHunters in Q3 is gonna rawk, I just know that."
"O.K. @>>CREEP<<@, I'll tell BatCat and BatMax and Dingbat, and any of the other bats, that I ran into you playing Q3."
"Cool! Tell them I said hi."

But he went and got the new NH, or so I believe, because a while later he told me he just got the new NH mod, and it "rawks", and was gonna play NH now. So I told him to tell them I was playing Q3 if they, or any of the bats were there. Apparently Cat was online, so I told him to say hi for me. Creep then said that BatCat told him he should be spanking me. I howled and said, "O.K. you are for REAL, then! LAFF! Nobody would know that BatCat talks like that!"
(unless they actually play on the server, and they would know that spanking is a gaming term of BatCat's)
About two minutes later he said, " I didn't know you were a girl (swats head)" "(smacks head again hard)"

(Never mind the fact that I haven't been a little girl for at LEAST 12 years now.) So I said "Yes, that's right, I am ALL WOMAN!!"
He was more than willing to play messenger for a bit after.

To be honest, the whole thing seemed a bit unreal.
