Jake Plays T-Ball!!

Jake started Tee-Ball the spring of 2002. T-ball is interesting. There is no score, no outs, and no sliding.... Just fun. An inning consists of every kid on each team batting. That's it. Jake's coach placed emphasis on fielding fundamentals. Hitting comes second. Below you can follow along as Jake learned to play the game.

If you need to skip ahead and watch adorable video of Jake hitting....

At the first practice, a players only meeting. Jake is second from the left.

The best was watching the team run from one base to another like a short mob- too funny!

Team Meeting
Jake, number 7, gets grounder instruction. Grounder Instruction

Ready Position

In the ready position, Jake waits for a grounder to get to him.
Some of his first fly ball instruction. Turns out Jake doesn't catch very well. But it's ok. His throws are very good. Nice distance and accuracy. Fly Balls

At the second practice, on Saturday, Jake takes infield practice. In tee-ball there is only one defensive play - the throw to first. Throw to first

Some people just can't wait for the game to start. When is this practice stuff going to be over with anyway???
Jake's strong point, and I mean really strong, is always paying attention to the coach. Not one thing the man says escapes Jake! Actually only a couple of the kids seem very interested in the baseball itself. Jake isn't one of them. But he does have fun and volunteers to go. That's what counts.

 And another practice ends.
