In Professor Roger Penrose's two books: The Emperor's New Mind: Concerning computers, minds, and the laws of physics and Shadows of the Mind: A search for the missing science of consciousness . He argues that digital computers that based on some computable algorithms can not simulate human conciousness, and conciousness must arise from some non-computable physics action, the law of this physics have not been discovered yet. But Professor Penrose did not mention much about his famous discovery, Penrose tiles in those two books.
I agree with his point of view about where the conciousness come from. Furthermore, I think maybe our physical world is evolving like the forming of a Penrose tiles pattern:
Loose pieces: quantum wave-like state
------mathematics can predict the possibility of outcome, but the outcome is
not deterministic.
Fit to the pattern: the collapse of wavefunction
------Physical world choose one outcome state out of several possibilities.
Some patterns are better than others and reproduce themselves, that is the mechanism for evolution.
Of course this make me, the one who write this program for your guys to play, the God, the Nature, the Law of Physics. Although I simply enforce the mathematical rule. As in Penrose three worlds analysis, physical world comes from Platonic mathematical world, mental world comes from physical world, and in turn, it is our conciousness, the mental world that understands Platonic mathematical world. I enforce the mathematical law, limit but not force your choice. You can still form your unique Penrose pattern, this is your free will. I hope the pattern you make is a beatiful one.
