Formatting Large SCSI Disks (4GB) under CTOS
1. Read the disclaimer below :-).
2. Preferably obtain Standard Software s12.3.155
or later.
(in particular, version of formatdisk.run
needs to be at least c12.3.136)
Disks >1GB were first supported
by STD-SW R12.3.100.
A number of 4GB disk issues occured
with STD-SW R12.3.100 so it a good idea to
obtain the latest STD-SW patch
you can.
3. Use the "Configure Disk" command. The
following parameters have worked for me:
Device Name
D0
[System image size]
1280
[Log file size]
48
[Crash file size]
131072
[Max. directories]
400
[Max. files on volume]
21500
[Primary file headers
only?] NO
[Surface tests]
1
[Old CTOS format?]
NO
[CTOS partition in Mb]
4096
