Note (*): The PL4500 has the NCR53c825 SCSI chipset; however, the NCR53c825 appears to reside on the EISA bus. The current version of the Symbios 8xx and NCR53c8xx drivers do not appear to support EISA. It is suggested to install a replacement SCSI controller for access to SCSI devices. The replacement controller can be an ISA or EISA controller, the Sim710 driver does support EISA. Compaq Array controllers will function under Linux in the PL4500. See pl4500.html for more information regarding this.
