18 Jul 1904, a surprise dinner was given at the home of Mrs. Martha (Foy) Canter.
On that day she was 69 years old. The happy throng consisted of all of her
children, namely: Mrs. Sarah Anderson and her husband, James R. Canter and
wife, William J. Canter and wife, John A. Canter and wife, and Henry N.
Canter and wife, all with their respective families. All were present
except one. There were 19 present. Mrs. Saran Canter, her sister-in-law was

Canter who died 26 Feb 1914. KY Odd Fellows of Lynnville.****Not sure what paper this was in**** Friday, 27 Feb 1914 Bob Canter, a
prominent citizen and rural mail carrier, died suddenly Thursday afternoon
at his home in Lynnville. He had been slightly ill for several days, but
his death was unexpected and a shock to his family and friends. He was
sitting in a chair when he suddenly dropped over dead. He was about 56
years old and leaves a wife and several children. He was born and reared in
Lynnville and a son of the late Dr. Canter. Member of the Christian Church,
an Odd Fellow and a Mason. Burial at Lynnville.From Mayfield Paper, Mon., 9 Mar 1914. L. F. Canter has been appointed
administrator of R. A. Canter, deceased. The appraisers were W. H. Seay,

From Mayfield Paper, Sat., 14 Sep 1907. Arthur Canter, a popular young man
of Lynnville, died at 1:30 PM Friday afternoon of congestion of the brain.
He was the son of Bob Canter, a prominent citizen of that place, and had
many friends. He had been ailing for the past two weeks and his condition
grew suddenly worse a few days ago. Burial at the Lynnville Cemetery.

Alta (or Altanovella) died in 1929 in Lynnville Ky. She was the daughter of
William J. Canter and Emily Ophelia Andrews. She was married to Rollie
Oglesby and had 2 daughters, Margaret Laurene, born July 31,1917, and Helen;
and a son who died in his teens, all born in Lynnville. Laurene married John
R .Jenkins in Mayfield and had 3 daughters-Jen Carol, Sharon Anne, both born
in Mayfield and Elizabeth Ellen, born in Detroit, Mi. Helen married Newton
Phillips and had 3 children- Ronnie, Sandra,and Barbara.Jen married Harold Dorman and has 6 daughters,and 10 grandchildren. Sharon
married William Quinn and has 2 sons and 3 grandchildren. Elizabeth married
Dugell Owen and has one son.
