LIBERTY BASIC is actively supported and updated. It boasts an active
MessageBoard, and user pages around the world. LIBERTY BASIC is offered as
shareware, and until registration, programs must run under the IDE. Gui programs are designed in
a companion program called FreeForm that generates code to paste in the IDE
progamming window. Or you can code the entire Gui program by hand without using a GUI IDE at all.
There is much on-line help available (see LB Links); including assistance from the developer of LibertyBasic who often monitors the Message Board. LibertyBasic is inexpensive to register; and the trial copy of LB has no time limit on its use; but is limited on the number of lines it will compile at one time. A 32 bit version (LB 4) is now currently available for download. Definitely worth using; a simple, useful windows program can be developed with in a short span of time. LibertyBasic, BCX, and perhaps XBasic seems to be the most active Basic Languages currently under continued development. |
