Future Modifications
I have not had to oppertunity to purchase any modifications for my car (Damn credit
card debit), but hopefully I can get some money put together to get some mods. All
these prices I am getting are from Dynamic
Racing. If you know were I can get them cheaper, email me so I can update the
prices.
The following mods, are only performance. I would like to get some cosmetic stuff
done like, Clear side markers, maybe some 18" Rims, a carbon fibber hood, or a
Bozzspeed front under spoiler "lip", but my car looks good enough, I want
POWER.
Performance Mod Upgrades (In order of Priority)
K&N FIPK Filter = $155
Okay the K&N FIPK Air filter has to be the most popular performance upgrade
that people get done for the 3000GT/Stealth. It is fairly cheap (around $150), and
it looks cool. I have also heard that it gets around a 5-15 HP gain. Pretty good
huh?
Blitz BOV = $300
Okay so once you get a new filter your intake will be able get alot more air
then what it can cram into your motor, so the Blow Off Value (BOV) opens up, and the
stock one has a slich goose sound whenever you let off the gas from high boost. I
would not mind getting a aftermarket BOV, but they are more expensive then the
airfilter, and I do not think there is a performance gain.
ATR Down pipe w/ATR High-Flow Cat = $300/$200
The next performance upgrade that is not too expensive is an ATR
Down pipe. From what I can get this repalces the stock down pipe and catalitic
converter. We do not haev very strict emission laws in Oklahoma, but I do not
want to risk my car not passing inspection, so I will probably have to cut the
down pipe to install the ATR High-Flow Cat.
Test Pipe = $???
I could gut the pre-cats or I think I can put in a test pipe instead. This
is for off-road use only, but hey I already have one cat hindering performance, do I
really need the two pre-cats too?
ATR Cat-Back Exhaust = $650
This gets rid of your stock restrictive muffler and exhaust from your cat to
your exhaust tips. This gives your 3" all the way to the 4" dual tips. You can get
the single tip variaty from other people like GReddy and Borla, but I like the way the
dual work.
Blitz Dual Solioniod Boost Controller = $450
Uhhhhhhh..... Digital Boost controller..... (Homer Simpson Drool). This
would be cool to have. It is a digital boost controller that you can have two
presets on. That is 15 PSI for you and 5 PSI for your girl =P.
There are lots more upgrades, but until I get the ones above then I should not even
look at a new Y-pipe or, hard intercooler pipes, larger intercoolers, larger turbos,
high flow fuel system, bigger injectors, some Brembo cross drilled rottors, and big
calipers. I can dream about these multi-thousand dollar upgrades, but I shouldn't.
