Sunday, March 22, 2009: News. Added 20 chapters. Now have 161 chapters. Pesach This Thursday, the 26th March, is Rosh Hodesh Nissan which is the gateway into Pesach and into spring, see Chapter 107 for the laws and customs of the month of Nissan. During Nissan we also say the special blessing on flowering fruit trees, see Chapter 60. We also have the blessing over the 28 year cycle of the sun, also in Chapter 60, which will occur on the 8th April just one day before Pesach. Chapters 108-119 cover the preparations for Pesach and Pesach itself. Finally on the second night of Pesach we start to count the Omer, this is the count of 49 days and 7 weeks at the end of which we celebrate Shavuot. See Chapter 120. Mailing List. If you want to be notified when I put up a new chapter of the Kitzur, or a new drosha or whatever, why not drop me a line mail to Yona Newman and I will email you with the news. |
Introduction
The linear translation of Genesis includes the text and commentaries such as Rashi.
The Kitzur Shulchan Aruch is a concise version of the laws that govern the day to day life of a religious jew.
My translation into English is a Linear one, that is I try to keep to the Hebrew text order and phrasing, because my objective is to help people who want to learn in Hebrew, even though this sometimes makes the English less flowing.
