The soldering iron is used to mount electronic components onto the printed circuit board. The components are soldered into the circuit board by heating. Lead is melted with the soldering iron and then used to connect the terminals of the component and the copper on the circuit board. To do this, we first melt lead on the tip of the iron. Insert the electronic component into the hole on the board. Then place the tip of the iron on the circuit board and the terminal of the component, the lead should connect the component terminal and the circuit board. Then remove the tip of the iron from the PCB and the lead should cool and solidify and then your component is connected to you circuit board.
