Description:

Cheater's Delight is a cheating utility for a game called Adom.  It is
designed to work under Dos.  People using Windows 9x can still use this
program, although they do not need to.  It will not run under Linux.

Cheater's Delight is a program that remains in the background, waiting
to be activated.  When it is activated, it will create a powerful item
for the player.

               
Installation:

Copy the files "cheat.exe" and "cheat.dat" to the main adom directory.
Then, run "cheat.exe" to start the cheat utility.


Using Cheater's Delight:

Create a new character while running Cheater's Delight. Then, enter and
leave the village of Terinyo.  When you are in the wilderness, press the
scroll lock key.  When you hear a beep from the speaker, enter Terinyo
to collect two, freshly made wands of wishing.  ;->

Do not press scroll lock before you enter Terinyo for the first time -
you must visit the village at least once.  Also, do not do this if you
have stored items in Teryino, or have rescued either the cute dog or the
mad carpenter - you will lose what used to be in Teryino.


How it works:

The method Cheater's Delight uses to create the Wands of Wishing is
quite simple.  This trick is one of the easiest tactics for cheating in
Adom.

Cheater's Delight simply copies the "cheat.dat" file, and overwrites
"adom_dat\tmpdat\adtl05_1" with the data file.  (Thus, Linux users can
simply use another virutal terminal to copy cheat.dat into the
adom_dat\tmpdat directory.)


Copying:

You may freely copy and distribute unmodified copies of Cheater's Delight.
This only applies to the executable and documentation of Cheater's
Delight.  The data file may be freely distributed.  (Besides, it is a
part of my saved game which I may distribute how I want to.)

Bugs:

None, except for the loss of the Cute Dog and the carpenter, as well as
any stored items in Terinyo.
