Hilmas' author is
Piero Ronchi
born in Bologna, Italy, on 1959, I have a degree in Astronomy, reached at Bologna University in 1985.
I have worked as System Programmer in a big firm of this town; I have an extended experience over IBM mainframes, first in VSE/SP and VM; then I am been involved in migration to MVS and I've acquired experience in this operating system from 1991.
I have experience even about AS/400, AIX RS/6000 and Linux; I've worked as DBA in Oracle on Unix and Windows servers.Actually, I am a freelance consultant. At present I develop with Microsoft Dot.Net (VB.Net/C# and Web Services); I know PowerBasic, C and C++ by which I develop low-level applications.

HiLMAs History.
Hilmas development is between 1989 and 1994; Hilmas is born from my wish (and necessity) to learn Assembler/370 and to help my daily work in system management. In that time EDP center of my firm was in VSE under VM; in 1992 we migrated to MVS/ESA 4.1 so I could develop and test Hilmas first in VSE and CMS, next in MVS.All the programs presented in Download page were developed in this period. In 1995 my firm give up mainframe platform and went in AS/400: from 1996 to 1999 test and develop of Hilmas was abandoned because lack of the hardware!
Hilmas is a collection of about 100 macros, that form a unique file of about 10000 lines of assembler source.
And now ?
This site, these HTML pages, are devoted to all people interested to mainframes, to develop in assembler and interested to new ideas to improve productivity in software development.
For now, Hilmas development and testing is stopped, and nothing else will be developed in Hilmas. If there is any firm, software house or institution interested in my work, I can be contacted through my E-Mail, that is:
