Albert Meltzer
Hi. Chances are you're reading this page because you want to know about me, or you want to know what I know about me....

I come from Lithuania, one of the so-called Baltic States, but I regard the seven years I spent in St-Petersburg (the old Russian capital) while getting my master's in math as the best time of my life.

I didn't have it in me to finish my Ph.D. at the Ohio State and ended up instead with another master's, in computer science. Well, I like it, too, and the business is booming...

My interests are quite ordinary. I don't collect stamps, I don't modify away cars... I like reading books, although I haven't read any good ones in a while; I like going to the movies (good director and good sound are among the reasons) although not as often as one of my good friends from St-Petersburg (who saw several hundred of them in one year). I like Beatles and Queen and Lloyd Webber and Mozart and Albinoni.

I like to hang out with friends but they are scattered all over. Some of them are still in Russia; some in Israel. Even those that don't have so much water separating us may still take 5-6 hours on United to get to.

I love travelling, and with Intel I literally went on a world tour, even though not anything close to accumulating a million frequent flyer miles. But now I am doing some of my own :)
