Ada Programming For Windows
                                                                      Windows 2000
   Simple pleasure of my life - The Windcatcher Garden                                                                          Windows XP

Welome to my Ada Home Page.  My name is
Jeff Loh.  I am an Ada programmer who is just learning how to use the Ada language to program in Windows 98.  I am using Aonix ObjectAda 7.2a.  This is my personal journal of my struggles in this arduous learning experience.  Source code changes are continuously being updated and as such source code from later chapters may make earlier ones obsolete.  For example, the chapter, A Minimal Window Example code is not backward compatible to A Skeletal Window Example.  This is because of new things learnt and a better way of implemention.

If you have a better solution or an answer, please let me know so I can post it on the web for everyone's benefit.  Hopefully the simplistic examples will make help others avoid the pitfalls I encountered.

Most of the information came from the following:

1.   Stephen Leake's Windex
2.   Scant help files from Aonix.
3.   The SDK
4.   The Microsoft Technical Website
5.   Win32 Programming by Brent E. Rector & Joseph M. Newcomer

6.   Windows 95 Programming in C & C++
       Advanced Windows 95 Programming in C & C++
       Windows 98 Programming From the Ground up by Herbert Schidt

7.    Windows 95 Win32 Programming Book I
        Windows 95 Win32 Programming Book II by Richard Simmon

A more current update for this Web page is
Win4Ada2000.  This new webpage is the result of my upgrade to Windows2000 and to a lesser extent, the new Aonix compiler.  Many changes and functionality are being added because from the lessons learnt.
