This applet simulates the environment of the Java 2 Programmer Certification Exam as administered by Sylvan Prometric. The questions are based on the Java 2 exam objectives document as published by Sun.
To help you prepare for the Sun certification tests, I have put some sample tests here. The testing environment is similar to what you will encounter when you take the Sun test at a local testing center. Your performance on these tests will help you identify areas where you might benefit from further study before you attempt the real thing. You can take these tests as many times as you like; each attempt will be scored individually.
When you have completed a test, your score will be calculated, and you will get an analysis of how you did on the various question categories. Categories are graded on a basis of 1000 points. A passing score on the Sun exam is 71%, so passing on the example tests is a total score of 710. The Sun exam does not have a minimum score on a category basis. Only the total score counts.
Make notes about the category scores to identify your weak points and guide your studying. After reviewing the category breakdown, click on the "Next" button to review the individual questions. The correct answer(s) will be highlighted in green. Click on any answer to see the test author's comments on that answer.
Note that questions which may have multiple correct answers show square checkboxes. The number of options which are correct can vary from 1 to all.
