There are two
dive shops on the island that offer a full line of scuba and snorkeling
instruction, equipment rental, and boat dive charters.
The staff at each shop is knowledgeable and ready to assist you in
making your diving experience an enjoyable and safe one!
Several of the dive sites have easy access from the shore while others
are only accessible by boat.
Although Cayman Brac is well known as the #1 scuba /
snorkel vacation destination, there are plenty of other activities to
enjoy during your visit. As you might imagine, the fishing is great all
year round with plenty of fishing piers and many areas from the shore.A
chartered boat trip will give you an enjoyable outing and an abundance
of fresh fish.A full day charter costs about $600.00 and half day trips
run around $350.00. You should schedule your charter early so you can
enjoy all the fresh fish during your stay. Our information package has
specific contact details for the best fishing charters available!
Take time
to visit the community park. Take a trip to Lighthouse Road and take a
walk on the nature trails through the parrot sanctuary.
Speaking
of the bluff, the 140 foot cliff offers a challenge for experienced
climbers.
If this is your kind of sport, be sure to bring along your own ropes
and safety equipment since it is not available on the island.
The
Bluff on Cayman Brac is riddled with caves of many sizes. Most are not
difficult to negotiate and require little specialized training or gear.
Several of these caves are located a short distance from The Breakers.
There are rumors that pirates hid buried treasure in the caves and that
some had been found. Peter's Cave located on the Northeast side of the
island can be accessed from Little Light House Road on top of the
bluff. From the road below, follow the steps carved into the limestone
up to the cave. New concrete steps and hand rails have been added for
easier access.
There are fantastic panoramic views of the town below and ocean views
on the way up to the cave.
