Y3K Foundation

(Youth for the 3rd Millennium)

The objective of the Y3K Foundation is to provide access to computers and to the Internet to the vast majority of Filipinos who do not have access to these because of poverty.

The Foundation shall solicit for computers and other hardware(modems, network cards, etc.), software, volunteers and trainors, and for cash donations. The Foundation will be basically using low cost solutions such as used hardware and software, specially shareware. Appropriate software that the Foundation is looking into are Geoworks, Nettamer, BCAD, CView, and others that are very productive but with low hardware requirements. These are basically still DOS software.

The Foundation shall select recipients of hardware, software, training, and support based on their interest, enthusiasm, and commitment. These are not giveaways and the Foundation wants only those recipients that can make it a productive on-going concern.

Ultimately, the Foundation wants not only to provide access to computers and the Internet, but for the recipients to become financially independent and productive citizens of the Philippines. By this will the Foundation only be called a success.

CALL FOR SUPPORT

The Y3K Foundation calls on all those who share this vision for whatever kind of support that they can give. A special request goes to all Overseas Filipinos to assist our less fortunate countrymen.

The Foundation is in the process of registering with the Securities and Exchange Commission as a Foundation. This will enable the Foundation to be implemented professionally and transparently.
