MotorDrivers:
Has 74AC245 on one side and two each Si9988's on the other side.
---
Front:
Two IR sensors, IF471FE - Digikey, SMD IR-LED's (425-1022-1-ND), etc.
---
MCU:
16F648A-18soj, LDO regulator LM1117IMP-5.0CT-ND, Reset Switch, LED,
Crystal.

Floor:
Four edge sensors.

SHOVE
& GRRR! :-)
Then the IR-LED's were installed on this sumo and they work!
A small piece of black double-sticky tape is installed just under each
sensor to block the IR-LED's.
Kinda looks like those football blackouts.
---
The boards are only 0.9" wide, so the zipzap motors & wheels stick
out.
Oh, yes those 0603 SMD LED's were fun to attach.
Front & Bottom View: Mouse glides cut into quarters, front &
rear.
IS471FE's for eyes.
Back View:
The internal wires have been moved outside ala BORG.
Motors are now connected to those 4 large pads just above the chip.
Gears:
This is the fourth try.
Wheels: Now mounted. That huge pin apparatus is the programming plug.
Gears: Are 18 teeth outside, Blue is 6 as is motor. Green is 7 while
Red is 8. Green wheel gear is 23.
This gives a final ratio of: ~199:1 for this gearset.
Gear axles: jumbo paperclip wire. At about 3v the wheels turn maybe
2x per second.
Bottom Plate with four edge sensors. Yup, they fit.
Gears mounted to the floor. You can see the edge of a mouse skid just
peeking out from the center edge. A 1/4 piece on front and back.
Another view. You can see the resistor wire sticking up that plugs
into the pin sockets.
Last try!
No, the tires don't touch. Just a hair's breadth to see through.
Paul, the dust has been removed. :-)
Shows the pin sockets that hold the bottom in place, one in each corner.
Batteries, Hah! Where to put them?
Nano MCU.
