Here is the place to get some of the best communications software. Free
long distance!
Video Chat, Voice Mail...and more! You can use the following to communicate with anyone
for free. Each
program requires Windows 95/98, and a little tweaking of microphone and
speakers.
Aol's
Instant Message:
This is the most popular program for stand alone chat software. It works
with
AOL members and non-members that have AIM 3.0 and above. The new
version 3.5+ includes voice chat.
dialpad.com:
A
cool PC phone
program (java applet). Works like a regular phone, easy
to set up, tiny one-time download. What's cool about dialpad is that you
can
call any regular telephone from your PC...and it is free!
Best of all, the person you are calling only needs a telephone!
visitalk.com: (I
don't use anymore...researching if it even still exists...)
Call me, or anyone
else that has signed up for the service, directly. Visitalk
provides a Permanent Communications Number (PCN). The PCN makes it
possible to find the person you are calling, no matter what server, anywhere in
the world, they are connected to....don't worry if you do not understand.
The
software allows you to easily send and receive voice mail,
and track them.
Put me in your contacts list and call anytime. Let me
know when
you are set up and I will send you my PCN. Additional requirements:
NetMeeting 3.0 (below)
NetMeeting: (I've
switched to Yahoo! Messenger)
You
can call me directly from my NetMeeting page, or using
visitalk and my
PCN. You will need the latest netmeeting (3.0). Click here
to get it!
You do not need a cam to use the software, however it would be nice to see
you!
Yahoo!
Messenger:
This is currently the best Voice and Video chat for free!
