WinTail
WinTail is a Win32 version of the ever-popular UNIX
tail program. Its main purpose in life is to monitor
text-based log files and display new content that has
been added to the end. WinTail is a very simple program;
it only has a couple of options.
Launching WinTail
WinTail can be launched in two different ways, with or
without command line parameters. If WinTail is launched
with no parameters, it simply runs & waits for you to
specify a file to monitor (you can specify a file by
clicking the Open button). If, however, you supply a path
to a log file on the command line, WinTail runs &
immediately begins monitoring the file.
Options
Update Interval: specifies how often WinTail
checks the file for changes
Max Lines: when the number of displayed lines
reaches this number, 3/4 of the displayed lines are
thrown away (prevents WinTail from hogging your entire
system)
