I have been searching something on Google and came across this page, my own page, about the existence of which I have completely forgotten. I registered at Geocities when internet was only beginning to be heard of among students at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. I guess it was back in 1995. Then I already could program smart networked applications in C and Pascal but knew nothing about the web.
One of the first things that I did on the web was building a simple page on Geocities. Now after years of programming I prefer to build HTML pages in binary code (kidding) but it's been cute to see my first page.
Because my first page looks ridiculous by the current standards, I have replaced it with this text.
Because I have a page that Geocities seems not to have an intention to drop, I will use it for drawing your attention to some sites.
The first site is pishpush.com which is a social search engine, i.e. a search engine where users have certain control over the results.
The other sites are dedicated to martial arts. I have friends who are great fans of martial arts, mostly the Chinese wushu. They have decided to build a 2 portals: one in English bushidirectory.com and one in Hebrew bushi.co.il.
They also have a pretty good martial arts equipment store in Israel sensei.co.il. In my view it's the best martial arts store in Israel because unlike the other stores whose goal is exclusively money, these people really care about promoting the martial arts and about the quality of their goods.
These guys also plan to write a blog about the martial arts bushiblog.com 1
