Jarocin
Jarocin is a town in Poland in Europa inhabited by 27 thousand people,
situated at the transport route from Poznan to Lodz and Katowice and
at the railway track from Poznan to Katowice.[38 miles SSE of Poznan (62 km SSE of Poznan), 51.58N 17.31E]
It is the seat of the communal authorities. The Regional Office of the government
administration can be found here. The community of Jarocin is located
in the north-western part of the Kalisz Province and borders on the Poznan Province.
It covers 200sq. km. Jarocin lies 53 km from Kalisz , the capital of the province,
and 74 km from Poznan. The lowland scenery of the community is slowly grooved by river-beds
of such small rivers as: the Lutynia, the Lubieszka and the Lipinka.
The average height of the community is 100-120 meters above sea level.
Jarocin is a town of rich history and one of the oldest towns of historical Wielkopolska.
Today, it is regional industrial centre. It is also a local culture centre thanks to the
folk traditions of the Jarocin Land which are carefully cultivated by the inhabitants of
Jarocin and its vicinity.
