Prince George is known as British Columbia's northern capital. It has a population of 75,000 people but serves many small communities in northern BC. There is a regional hospital, a university, college and variety of light and heavy industry. The main industry that drives the city is forestry. Prince George has saw mills, pulp mills, numerous small companies that provide services to the major forestry companies and government agencies that license and monitor their operations.
