L'influenza della Luna
Abitualmente i terremoti avvengono nelle fasi di luna calante.
E' quanto afferma il professore Ennio Cremonese, lunologo, secondo il quale è palese l'influsso lunare sul verificarsi dei terremoti.
Ill sisma in Umbria è avvenuto interamente durante una fase di luna calante.

Lo sgarbo a San Marsuccio
E' una leggenda ma gli abitanti di Nocera Umbra la raccontano seri in volto. Il loro patrono, Santo Marsuccio, potrebbe avere a che fare con il terremoto che ha sconvolto l'intera Umbria e le Marche distruggendo praticamente la loro città.
Il sisma sarebbe addirittura un segno del suo risentimento.
La leggenda vuole che Marsuccio, vissuto a cavallo tra il tredicesimo ed il quattrodicesimo secolo, lasciò un singolare testamento:
Il suo patrimonio doveva essere usato per dare pane ai poveri, Ma, attenzione, se la volontà non fosse stata rispettata, Nocera Umbra sarebbe stata scossa da un terremoto senza vittime ma distruttivo.
E da allora il Comune ha sempre regolarmente distribuito il pane a tutti i cittadini.
Però l'anno scorso, il 19 novembre 1996, festa del patrono, ci fu un disguido burocratico:
invece di portare il pane nelle frazioni, i vigili urbani invitarono la gente a ritirarlo al Comando Generale.
Non funzionò.
La sera molti sacchi di pane non furono ritirati e rimasero lì, accatastati.
Non è da escludere che Marsuccio si sia offeso.

San Marsuccio was treated impolitely
It is a legend but the inhabitants of Nocera Umbra seriously tell that their patron, Saint Marsuccio, could be involved in the earthquake that has upset whole Umbria and Marche destroying practically their cities.
The sisma would be straight a sign of his resentment.
Marsuccio, lived between thirteenth and forteenth century, left an unusual will:
his patrimony had to be used for giving bread to the poor men, But, attention, if wish had not been respected, Nocera Umbra would have been shaken by an earthquake without victims but destructive.
And since then the Comune has regularly distributed bread to all the citizens.
But last year, on November 19 th 1996, party of the patron, there was a bureaucratic error:
instead of bringing bread in the fractions, the urban officers invited people to withdraw it to the General Command.
It didn't work.
Many sacks of bread had not withdrawn and remained stacked in the storages.
It is not to exclude that Marsuccio felt himself offended. |
