WILLOW 4
The willow stood
alone again in the forest. The wounded sparrow having
regained her strength had soared off to her home land
to take care of some business, but vowed to return as
soon as she could. The willow was undecided about
wanting the sparrow back, for while they had a fight
bond there was always the feeling that the sparrow
had impeded the willow. And the willow needed to soar
again.
Meanwhile the willow
was receiving occasional visits from a lovely white
dove. The willow still felt something familiar about
the dove but was apprehensive about the eagle that
protected the dove. The dove promised to take the
willow flying and reassured him that the eagle was
allowing them to fly. One day the willow accepted the
doves invitation and off they flew. Slowly at first
just darting among the other trees, then gradually
they flew higher, but not so high as to touch the
sun. And as they flew the willow could feel the doves
love and the willow grew to understand. It wasn't
until he was flying free with the dove that the
willow could see how the sparrow's love was not
enough for him for he needed to fly. The willow knew
that no matter what happened between him and the
dove, he could never allow the sparrow to light on
his branches again. The sparrow from her great
distance had a sense of this already and was
beginning to worry; but there was nothing she could
do about it, the willow had already begun to let go.
With this new self
awareness the willow pulled up his roots restoring to
the form of a dove. He was again happy touching the
lives of others and living his true self And whether
he flew alone or with the other dove it didn't really
matter, for he knew that he only had to be true to
himself to be truly happy.
