Tom Hackenmiler and his wife, Kathie Teeley, have lived on Wapato Point since 1988.
The rich history and beauty of the Point inspired Tom to write the story of the Chelan and
Entiat Indians. Tom has a Masters Degree in History from Central Washington University in
Ellensburg. His masters project dealt with the early history of the town of Ellensburg and
Kittitas County. He has taught History at the college, secondary, and elementary levels.
